get me memphis, tennessee...an update            It was a trip to Memphis in August of 1980 that launched a company called B & K Enterprises in Charlestown, Indiana in the southeast part of the state.  The owners, Butch and Kim Polston, went to Elvis Presley's hometown for a memorabilia and collectibles show on the anniversary of the singer's death.     While they were in Memphis, an Elvis tribute artist came by their room at a Days Inn and saw four costumes on display that Butch had hand sewn in an effort to replicate the costumes worn by Elvis.  He said he created the costumes.. .for the fun of it ... and had no other valuable items or merchandise to sell.  The performer paid $2,000 on the spot ($6,600 today) for the four costumes and B & K Enterprises was born.   Butch told me in our initial interview back in September of last year about th...

   flying high... an update                   A  HUH ?  What's up with that ? blog published on March 5, 2021 featured Dr. Anne Pinski,  barbers Denise Arrington and Tammy Mann, and, Air Force pilot, Leesa Froelich.  The four women were highlighted in a publication called  4 women making history during national  Women in History Month .     Flying high...an update,  focuses on what's happened to Leesa since that time.     Leesa Froelich is flying high .   There have been some major changes in her life and one revision involves knocking down a major goal along the way.      Miss Froelich graduated from Florida State University with the intention of becoming a Hurricane Hunter with the U. more oddities, observations & omg's...          My favorite authors write mysteries and thriller fiction.  Each story has a detective like character that can multi-task.  Individually, he or she seems to be able to observe and take note of life going on around them while simultaneously fulfilling the mission or assignment .     The sleuth or protagonist never miss important details that lead to a successful conclusion of the case.  I would like to mimic that ability, and, to that end, I have been practicing my powers of observation by trying to be more aware of my surroundings.    Have I improved?  Not sure.  But, now, when I am about to bump into someone in a store or as I'm about to pass through a door and coincidentally arrive at the same spot on the floor as someone else, I no longer say, Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't see you.   But, the fact is...   HUH ?   What's up with that ?    Perhaps...
