Huh? What's Up With That?

pos(people over 60)memories #3...                     Some people like to think about their favorite memory or two on a regular basis.  Two ladies said they think of great family memories as a recurring theme.     Others may dwell in the past way too much.  One man told me he thinks the 1970s were the greatest decade in his history and he would like to go back to that time.   Still others claim not to have a fun memory they occasionally bring up just to reminisce.   memories of POS...#2   I have spoken to several random people willing to share their favorite memory and this second in a  series of blogs called, memories of POS  is the result of part of those conversations.        Some of the men and women were reluctant to impart what some would consider the most personal of thoughts.  That's understandable, but, for those willing to tell a story, it was fun to eavesdrop.        Of the all the memories revealed, all but one fit into one of four categories: childhood, career, love, family.   HUH ?  What's up with that ?    The ages of those I have spoken with range from 34 to 85.  The people over 60, (POS) had the most difficulty citing just one favorite memory and tended to recount several events as their most visited.  However, when asked to choose a numero uno, each one narrowed their many thoughts to a single memory.    Beverl...

  #5 of oddities, observations, & ?'s...                                                               I noticed former Vice-President Mike Pence was booed as he took the stage   at the NRA Convention in Indianapolis last April.  Simultaneously, as  boos were echoing around the Indiana Convention Center, another section of the crowd cheered the former Hoosier governor.     I presume the negative reaction Mr. Pence received was prompted by his role in support of the constitution of the United States while serving as Speaker of the House on January 6, 2020.     It is unknown if the press asked those who applauded  why they were showing a positive reaction, but, the cheers could have been for the same reason as those who booed.   How ironic.  Some of the very same peop...

job$ somebody's gotta do...                                                                 Except for minor inconveniences and petty complaints about flying in general, I rarely think about the effort of all the people it takes to lift off the ground the behemoth I am boarding.     HUH ?   What's up with that ?    I know the airplane has been fueled, pilots are on board, baggage handlers will load my luggage in the proper compartment, service agents are waiting for me to board, the ground crew will guide us to the runway, and traffic controllers will get us safely in the wild blue.     But, I don't ever recall wondering when the plane was last inspected or serviced for any potential mechanical deficiency.     Enter Federal Aviation Inspector Eric Sherman.  He also has one of the ...
